Privacy

rentncr.in is an anonymous rent map. There are no accounts, and we never ask for your name, phone number or email address. This page explains exactly what happens to data when you use the site.

When you add a rent

We store:

• The rent, size (BHK), home type, furnishing, whether it's a gated society, and the society name if you type one.
• The location you picked, rounded to about 100 metres before it is saved. The exact point is never stored.
• The date you added it.
• A one-way hash of your IP address, combined with a secret value. It can't be turned back into your IP. We use it only to limit submissions to 5 a day per network and to count each report once. Your IP address itself is never stored.

Everything except the hash is shown publicly on the map, without any link to you.

Spam protection

When you submit a rent, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're a person, not a bot. To do this, Cloudflare processes technical signals from your browser and your IP address. We send Cloudflare your IP only for this check and don't keep it. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy notice.

When you view the map

• We don't use cookies, advertising trackers or fingerprinting.
• Map images are loaded from our map tile provider, which, like any website you load, sees your IP address and the area of the map you're viewing.
• "Use my location" asks your browser for permission. Your location is used only to move the map; it is never sent to us unless you then add a rent there, and even then it's rounded as above.
• Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short time for security and debugging.

Rents from public Reddit posts

To start the map, some rents were taken from public posts on Reddit where people said what they pay. We store only the rent, size, area and month, not usernames, and these pins are placed at the centre of the area, not at a building. They are labelled "From a public Reddit post".

Removing a rent

Because rents aren't linked to anyone, we can't look up "your" rent. If you want a specific pin removed, use Report on it, or email us with its area, size and amount and we'll take it down.
